About Alysse

Alysse Bryson is an innovative media maven, marketing guru, and gal about town. She has a humorous outlook on life and a fierce determination to succeed. Over her lengthy career in traditional media, Alysse was the Publisher of Seattle Met magazine, Seattle’s largest lifestyle publication. She lived the magazine life for nearly a decade, rubbing elbows with local celebrities and throwing some of the most talked about parties all over town. Alysse turned in her stilettos, swamped out magazines for live Television, and served as the Director of Business Development for KING 5 Media Group, the local NBC affiliate, for almost six years. Her second title around the office was “Director of Fun.”

One pandemic and a Great Resignation later, Alysse now serves as the Vice President of Community Development for WORKP2P, formerly Point to Point Transportation. The legacy business inside of WORKP2P provides innovative, technology-based transportation to marketing professionals who demand perfection. They service any size shipment for any size marketing program anywhere on the planet.

Stop her before she “start-ups” again! Alysse also has her fingerprints heavily involved in several start-up ventures under the WORKP2P parent company umbrella. This includes the BEATS WORKING Show, with Host and former TV Anchor Mark Wright, Sales Sidekick, and Intentional Sidekick. These three brands form a nontraditional media agency focused on transforming leaders who want to develop their communities by redeeming work…the word, the place, and the way.”

Alysse is a gal on the go and proud of her Pacific Northwest roots. She also oversees her start-up, The Sober Curator, an online lifestyle resource that curates and creates original content for the recovery community. This pandemic baby recently placed in the top 15 recovery blogs and the top 10 recovery magazines in the world. Alysse is a single mother to her adult son Jakob (26) and lives with her two Boston Terriers, Roxie & Bella.

The Sober Curator

The Sober Curator is intended to be a resource for those seeking content related to recovery or a zero-proof lifestyle. We are in the business of keeping anyone seeking an alcohol-free lifestyle entertained and informed by curating, reviewing, and contributing fun and interesting recovery-focused content.

We’ll show you how to get plugged in with the latest swag, merch, podcasts, books, movies, fashion, music, events, and more. We strive to show that sobriety and life without alcohol do not have to be boring. Getting sober is hard enough; finding good content about recovery and sober living doesn’t have to be.

From A Different Angle

What was your first job?

My first “real” job was at a truck-stop burger bar called Bill & Beas in my hometown Centralia, Washington. They’ve been serving delicious burgers for over 50 years and are a local favorite in Lewis County. My starting wage was $3.50/hour plus tips, and to this day, I frequently stop in for a bite when I visit my parents or pass through town heading south on I-5.

What is your superpower?

I’m a magnet that moves throughout the world with an energetic and creative force. I secretly have a goal of becoming the Kevin Bacon of Seattle. I’ve frequently been told I have a magnetic personality and the superpower of connecting people in meaningful ways.

Favorite podcast and why?

F*cking Sober the First 90 Days is an unflinching first-person narrative of Anita Drake’s first 90 days of getting sober in NYC. This Webby Award-winning 8-episode serialized show features talent and music by artists in recovery. It is unlike any other recovery podcast currently on the market.

I’m also a fan of almost any True Crime podcast and Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert.

Best advice you've ever gotten.

My friend Rita B. used to frequently remind me that “Enough is a Feast.”  It served as a good reminder I may not always get everything I want, but I do have everything I need. Rita, along with my parents who led by example, taught me the importance of putting others first. In my experience thus far in life, being of service to others is the secret sauce to living a fulfilled life.
