About Elan

Meet Elan Olsen, the resident bee whisperer, fearless trapeze swinger, and die-hard Seattle Seahawks fanatic from Auburn, WA. After tying the knot last year, Elan has been busy juggling two cats Toad and Cricket, volunteer work, and being a human version of Canva (which may or may not be used for evil). Just don’t ask her about cooking… With a background in customer service and community development marketing, Elan brings a unique skill set to the table. Whether they’re capturing moments, (not) whipping up delicious meals, or helping others, Elan is always finding new ways to use her talents to make a difference.

Dumb Bitch Kitchen

As a millennial, I struggle with all the regular things- spending too much on avocado toast to afford a home, inexcusable entitlement, and of course… never being able to find a recipe that doesn’t include Rebecca’s life journey to finding the flavor.

Like you, I am tired of reading about Natalie’s farm to table story. Who fucking cares? Not you. Not me. So, if you’re looking for simple-ish recipes without the blog post you’re probably still not in the right place. We live and learn. Today is your day.

Favorite podcast and why?

I have two. The Bible Recap which I’ve listened to every day for 3 years. It helps me read through the Bible chronologically and adds color and historical context.

I also really like Some Place Under Neith which is like the 180 degree opposite. SPUN mostly explores stories of exploited and missing women and kids particularly in circumstances that aren’t discussed widely.
